620 Pieces of Light
Construction began with the lightest veneers — ash, maple, and holly — laid in the highlight regions. Walnut and wenge were cut last, pressed into shadow zones to give the face its three-dimensional depth. No two grain directions repeat within the facial plane. Each cut was made freehand, without laser or template, over approximately four weeks.
